St. Ignace, Cedarville to Meet in Spike Out Alzheimer’s Match

ST. IGNACE – Cedarville and St. Ignace will face off on the volleyball court Tuesday in the first “Spike Out Alzheimer’s” match.

Both sides will be sporting purple jerseys to raise awareness.

All money raised will be split between Evergreen Living Center in St. Ignace and Cedar Cove in Cedarville.

“I mentioned we might be doing this game and they all got really excited and just wanted to do something to support our community and people around it,” said Lanie Fettig of the Evergreen Living Center.

“It’s a disease a lot of people don’t realize how many people are actually affected by it, so we thought it was really important to make it more pronounced,” added St. Ignace senior Courtney Frazier.

The JV match is set for 5 p.m., with varsity beginning around 6:30 p.m.
