TC West Shuts Out Rival TC Central in Big North Action

TRAVERSE CITY – Traverse City West scored a pair of second-half goals en route to a 2-0 Big North Conference win over rival Traverse City Central at Coast Guard Field on Tuesday.

After a scoreless opening half, Finn Durbin tallied the game’s first goal on a free kick with 38 minutes remaining in regulation.

Grant Holfels put the game on ice with an unassisted goal with less than nine minutes remaining.

Charles Douglas recorded four saves in the loss for the Trojans (2-4-2, 0-2-0).

West (5-4-1, 2-0-0) returns to the pitch Thursday at Division No. 12 Gaylord, while Central welcomes in Petoskey.
