Beal City’s Davis Taking Over Mt. Pleasant Program

MT. PLEASANT – Beal City varsity softball coach John Davis has accepted the head softball coaching position at Mt. Pleasant.

Davis, who served as an assistant under for five years prior to taking the Beal City job, coached the Aggies from 2015-19, amassing a 125-54 record and two district championships.

A Mt. Pleasant alum, Davis takes over for longtime Oiler coach Ted McIntyre, who announced in June that he was stepping away from the program. McIntyre built the Oiler program in 1975, quickly establishing Mt. Pleasant as one of the premier programs in the state. He amassed more than 1,000 career wins and led the Oilers to the 1993 MHSAA Class A state championship and a 2010 Division 2 runner-up finish.
