CMU Comes Alive Against EMU For Dominant Win At Home

MT. PLEASANT – After last week’s loss to Western Michigan, CMU needed to bounce back.

They did just that on Saturday against Eastern, and then some.

The Chippewas came to life at Kelly/Shorts Stadium Saturday afternoon, where big plays were made all around, something we haven’t seen much over the first five games.

Central Michigan recorded season-highs in both rushing yards (308) and total yards (587).

At halftime, CMU lead 21-3, and kept the Eagles at bay winning 42-16.

Jonathan Ward had quite the game with three touchdowns, including 64-yard pass play and an 86-yard run. He had 132 yards on the ground.

Quarterback David Moore ended 15/24 for 279 yards and two touchdowns.

The Chippewas are now undefeated at home and are 3-0 at Kelly/Shorts Stadium for the first time since 2009. They move to 3-3 on the season and 2-1 in MAC play.

Next for CMU is New Mexico State for homecoming next weekend.
