CMU Soccer Falls to EMU, Turns Attention to MAC Tournament

MT. PLEASANT – The Central Michigan women’s soccer team dropped its regular-season finale with a 3-1 loss to visiting Eastern Michigan on Thursday.

Lauren DeBeau put the Chippewas ahead 1-0 in the 13th minute, by the Eagles (6-11-2, 5-6-0) responded with goals from Sabrina McNeil and Haley Tausend to go ahead 2-1 at the half.

Amanda Cripps put the game on ice in the 60th minute.

Zoie Reed tallied four saves in net in the loss.

With the loss, CMU (7-5-4, 4-5-2) earned the eighth seed in the upcoming Mid-American Conference tournament. The Chippewas will face top-seed Bowling Green (12-5-2, 10-1-0) in Ohio on Sunday. The Falcons won the first meeting 3-2 in overtime.

Sunday’s game is slated for 1 p.m.
