CMU Volleyball Tops Rival WMU in 4 Sets

MT. PLEASANT – The Central Michigan volleyball team ran its Mid-American Conference record to 9-2 with a 3-1 win over rival Western Michigan at McGuirk Arena on Thursday.

The Chippewas (19-4) won by scores of 22-25, 25-14, 25-19, 25-22.

Kalina Smith paced CMU with 19 kills, two blocks and two aces while Anna Erickson had 10 kills and three blocks.

Megan Kern tallied 18 digs for the Chippewas while Grace Butler and Kendall Braate had 26 and 21 assists, respectively.

CMU next welcomes in Northern Illinois at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
