CMU Wins Big For Homecoming
MT. PLEASANT – The Chippewas came into their homecoming game hungry for another win.
And they got it.
Central Michigan is now on a two-game winning streak after defeating New Mexico State 42-28 on Saturday afternoon at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. This is the first time the Chippewas and the Aggies have met on the gridiron.
Quarterback Quinten Dormady started in his first game since an injury had him sidelined in their game against Wisconsin. He threw for 134 yards and two touchdowns.
The run game was strong for the Chippewas against the Aggies, with Jonathan Ward and Kobe Lewis with a combined three touchdowns. The team combined for a season-high 352 yards on the ground.
With the win, CMU advances to 4-3 overall and remains undefeated at home.
For their next game, the Chippewas travel to Bowling Green to take on the Falcons on Oct. 19.
