Gaylord St. Mary Forfeits 5 Games

GAYLORD – Gaylord St. Mary announced Tuesday that it is forfeiting five varsity football games this season due to ineligible players competing.

The forfeits are a result of ineligible players participating within the football program’s co-op agreement. The players were deemed ineligible due to previous semester academic violations.

“As a proud Catholic school with a long standing tradition of following rules, and playing with honor and integrity, we strongly support our young men and coaches, and look forward to competing in our final remaining games,” the school said in a release.

The Snowbirds, who drop to 2-5 on the season, must forfeit the following games that ineligible players participated in:

Manistee Catholic Central (Aug. 28)
Mio (Sept. 6)
Central Lake (Sept. 13)
Suttons Bay (Oct. 5)
Pickford (Oct. 11)
