Harbor Springs’ O’Neill Ties For First In D4 at State Finals

All across the state on Saturday, girls golf teams competed in the state finals of their divisions.

There were 10 northern Michigan teams who qualified for the tournament.

In Division One, as a team Traverse City West finished 14th with a total score of 752. Individually, Anci Dy took home second place with a total of 149 over the two days.

Mt. Pleasant, Petoskey, and Traverse City Central all competed in Division Two. The Trojans placed seventh, the Northmen placed 10th, and the Oilers came in 18th. Emlin Munch (TC Central) tied for second individually, only three strokes back from first place. Ashley Lamb (Petoskey) tied for ninth.

In Division Three, Big Rapids finished fifth as a team. The Cardinals’ Hope Thebo tied for fifth individually.

For Division Four, Harbor Springs took home second place, while Traverse City St. Francis rounded out the top ten at tenth. Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart and Chippewa Hills placed 13th and 14th, respectively. Manistee finished at 18th.

Individually in Division Four, Harbor Springs’ Jacque O’Neill tied for first with Wixom St. Catherine’s Sara Haupt. She shot an 81 on day one, and an 83 on day two.
