LSSU Hockey Falls at Home to No. 2 Denver
SAULT STE. MARIE – Lake Superior State dropped its first game of the 2019-20 season with a 3-1 loss to No. 2 Denver at Taffy Abel Arena on Friday.
Emilio Pettersen delivered the game-winning goal for the Pioneers (3-0-0) at the 7:15 mark of the third period.
The Lakers (2-1-0) took a 1-0 lead after the first period on an Ashton Calder goal.
Ian Mitchell netted the equalizer in the second period to tie the game at 1-1 through two.
The two teams close out their two-game series at 7 p.m. Saturday.
