Ludington Wins Third Straight Regional Title With Win Over Elk Rapids

CLARE – The Elks and the Orioles meet again.

Saturday in Clare, Ludington and Elk Rapids faced off for the regional title, a flashback to last year’s regional title game, where the Orioles won in overtime 3-2.

This year’s game was quite similar, with Ludington winning 1-0, heading to the semi-finals for the third year straight.

“I think we do need to work on some things defensively a little bit because Elk Rapids had some great looking opportunities,” said head coach Kris Anderson after the win. “So we got to kind of clean that up a little bit because Grand Rapids South Christian I’m sure they didn’t play today so they’re going to be here watching us and they’re going to be ready for us.”

Ludington faces Grand Rapids South Christian at Cedar Springs on Wednesday Oct. 30 at 6 pm.
