Rudyard Boys Win D3 State Title

MARQUETTE – This weekend, Upper Penisula cross country teams ran in their respective cross country state finals.

The Rudyard boys team secured their title in Division 3, with a score of 72.

In the same division, Brimley came in third (96) and Newberry came in 11th (242).

For the girls side of D3, Chasell took first place (36), while Cedarville came in third (90), Newberry came in fourth (98), and Brimley came in sixth (133).

In Division 2, Ishpeming came in first on the boys side (27) and Hancock took home the title for the girls (34). St. Ignace girls recorded second place (56).

For Division 1, both Sault Ste. Marie teams came close to back-to-back titles, but came up just short. The boys team recorded 57 points, taking home second place, while the girls had 74 points, getting third.
