Big Rapids Beats Cadillac in 131 Challenge Cup
BIG RAPIDS — The Big Rapids hockey team won its fourth straight 131 Challenge Cup over Cadillac Wednesday night, 6-2.
The Cardinals jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one period, thanks to goals by Blake Neibarger and Peter Ruttan. The Vikings responded in the second period to tie it up, as Zakk Izzard and Fisher Moore both found the back of the net.
Big Rapids led, 3-2, after the second period, with Thomas Crandell scoring shortly before the end of the period. The Cardinals kept the momentum going in the third to pick up the victory.
Cadillac is scheduled for face Manistee next on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Manistee. Big Rapids will host Wyandotte Roosevelt on Friday.
