Boyne City’s Stadt Inks with Northwood

BOYNE CITY – Boyne City three-sport senior student-athlete Avery Stadt signed her National Letter of Intent with Northwood University and its women’s cross country and track and field programs on Thursday.

A runner and basketball player, Stadt earned Lake Michigan Conference all-league and all-region honors all four years and is a three-time all-conference and all-region honoree in track and field.

“I was blessed with many great opportunities as an athlete,” Stadt said in a statement. “I was recruited by many great schools, including Michigan State, Central Michigan University and the University of South Carolina. I was introduced to Northwood through my assistant track coach. I knew, even after my first visit, that Northwood was the perfect fit for me. The coaches and athletes were welcoming, driven, kind and felt like a family. I am extremely excited to be able to grow and improve as a Northwood Timberwolf in the fall of 2020.”

A member of the National Honor Society, she qualified for the MHSAA Lower Peninsula cross country state finals on four occasions.
