Charlevoix’s Stuck Signs NLI with Michigan
CHARLEVOIX – The Charlevoix girls basketball program’s all-time leading scorer, Elise Stuck, signed her National Letter of Intent with the University of Michigan and its women’s basketball team on Wednesday.
An Associated Press Division 3 First Team all-stater as a junior, Stuck is Charlevoix’s all-time leading scorer with 1,494 points.
Stuck will be sidelined for her senior season after tearing her ACL while playing in Louisville during the first week of July, but she plans to serve in a coaching role.
“Right now I’m kind of acting in more of a coaching role,” Stuck said. “It was something that Coach (Marc) Sroufe was really interested in me doing, and I was pretty excited. I mean, at the beginning I was like, ‘Yikes! I have to coach, it’s a little scary, I don’t know how to do that,’ but it’s a new opportunity to try something, and see a different side of the game that will hopefully benefit me later on.”
She joins a Michigan program that went 22-12 in the 2018-19 season and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Stuck plans to pursue a degree in the medial field.
