CMU Dominates Toledo En Route To 1st MAC Championship Appearance In a Decade
MOUNT PLEASANT – The Chippewas controlled their own fate going into their final game of the season on Friday afternoon against Toledo.
On Tuesday, Western Michigan had lost to NIU giving them the driver’s seat for the MAC West.
Central Michigan also trying to keep an undefeated streak at home alive against the Rockets.
Chippewas haven’t faired well against Toledo in recent years, not winning a game against them since 2009.
They came out strong to start, going up 35 to 7 at halftime. The continued firing on all cylinders carrying them to the 49-7 victory over Toledo.
The win gives Central Michigan the top of the MAC West and a ticket to next Saturday’s MAC Championship at Ford Field against Miami (OH).
They end the regular season 8-4 overall and 6-2 in conference, completing the ultimate comeback after only winning one game a year ago.
