Ferris State Advances To DII Quarterfinals With Win Over Central Missouri

BIG RAPIDS – After three weeks off, between the end of the regular season and a bye in the first round of the playoffs, Ferris State finally got to take the field Saturday against Central Missouri for the second round of the DII Playoffs.

Both teams came out quick, with the Bulldogs getting it started but the Mules not being too far behind. At the end of the first quarter, Central Missouri led 7-6.

Ferris State picked up in the second, with a bigger defensive effort and a 58-yard TD from Travis Russell to CJ Jefferson.

They held a 16-7 lead over the Mules at halftime.

The second half, the Bulldogs were firing on all cylinders, and came out with the 37-10 victory over Central Missouri.

The win marks the fourth year in a row that the Bulldogs will make it to the quarterfinals. They will face Northwest Missouri State on December 7 at Top Taggart Field at 1 pm.
