Ferris State Claims Outright GLIAC Championship In Anchor Bone Classic Win

BIG RAPIDS – The biggest rivlary in the GLIAC was ignited again on Saturday at Top Taggart Field for the Anchor Bone Classic between Ferris State and Grand Valley State.

The Bulldogs were eyeing another perfect regular season record and the outright GLIAC title with a win. It would also be their seventh victory over the Lakers over the last eight times they’ve met on the gridiron.

GVSU came out hard in the first half, taking the 9-7 lead going into halftime.

The Bulldogs not wanting to go out without a win. They came out of the locker room with a vengeance, winning the matchup 21 to 16.

Ferris State now waits for who they start the playoffs against on Nov. 23.
