CMU Outlasts UT-Martin in Non-Conference Action

MT. PLEASANT – Devontae Lane scored 17 points as Central Michigan ran its record to 7-2 with an 84-75 win over the University of Tennessee at Martin at McGuirk Arena on Friday.

Lane was one of four Chippewas in double figures as Kevin McKay tallied 16 points and five rebounds and Dallas Morgan chipped in with 14 points and six boards. Travon Broadway Jr. also scored 10 points in 15 minutes off the bench for CMU, which was tied with UT-Martin at 42-42 at the half.

Parker Stewart paced UT-Martin (3-5) with a game-high 22 points and seven rebounds.

CMU returns to the road Sunday to take on Valparaiso. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
