San Diego State Tops Central Michigan in New Mexico Bowl

ALBUQUERQUE — Central Michigan had its season come to an end with a 48-11 loss to San Diego State in the New Mexico Bowl on Saturday.

The Aztecs’ top-five defense came ready to play, forcing five turnovers and holding the Chippewas to just 277 total yards.

CMU’s lone touchdown came in the third quarter on a 66-yard touchdown by Kobe Lewis.

The Chippewas end the year with an 8-6 record in head coach Jim McElwain’s first season at CMU.
