CMU Defeats Miami In MAC Home Opener

MOUNT PLEASANT – It’s been since December 5 since the Central Michigan women’s basketball team has played a game at home, but Saturday they came back to McGuirk Arena for their Mid-American Conference home opener against Miami (OH).

The back-and-forth game came to a head in the fourth quarter where the RedHawks and Chippewas were tied 56-56.

CMU came out with the 76-70 win over Miami, where Micaela Kelly had 29 points and Gabby Bird had 16. The Chippewas also out-rebounded the RedHawks 43-31.

Central Michigan remains unbeaten in the MAC and moves to 11-4 on the season. Next up for the Chippewas is Ball State on Wednesday.
