Cadillac Stifles Ludington, Moves to 12-2
LUDINGTON – The Cadillac boys basketball team held Ludington to 13 second-half points en route to a 50-37 non-league win on Tuesday.
After trailing 17-8 following the opening quarter and 24-22 at the half, the Vikings (12-2) brought a 41-29 lead to the third.
Tipp Baker led Cadillac with 20 points.
“They’ve (Ludington) had our number for the last couple years,” Cadillac coach Ryan Benzenberg said. “They’ve ended our season three years in row and hopefully we get to play them again in March which means we both made runs in the tournament. That’ll be in our gym which would be nice, so anytime we can beat a team of that caliber, we feel good about it.
“That’s a physical basketball team. We needed to match their physicality and I was happy we did that. We outrebounded, them which is a big key. One of our big metrics that we really pay attention to, so for us to be able to do that on the road, in their gym is pretty good for us.”
Ludington (9-6) welcomes in rival Manistee on Friday while Cadillac hosts league foe Traverse City West.
