Chippewas Hold Off Falcons, Move To 12-0 in MAC Play

MOUNT PLEASANT – It’s been an unbelievable season for the women’s basketball team at Central Michigan. They have maintained a perfect conference record so far this year under first year head coach Heather Oesterle.

That unblemished MAC record was tested on Saturday against Bowling Green.

After the first half of play, the Chippewas maintained at 45-33 lead, but after the third, the Falcons started to close in cutting the deficit to only a basket.

CMU held off Bowling Green winning 82-75, with Kyra Bussell leading the scoring charge with 23 points. Micaela Kelly also posted a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Central Michigan moves to 19-4 on the season and 12-0 in the MAC. They are back in action at home on Wednesday against Kent State.
