Division 4 No. 3 St. Ignace Rolls Past Cedarville in Hooping for a Cure Game

ST. IGNACE – Division 4 third-ranked St. Ignace held Cedarville to eight second-half points in a 76-30 win in the 12th annual Hooping for a Cure game on Thursday.

The Saints (13-2) led 20-10 after a quarter and extended their lead to 40-22 at the half en route to sweeping the regular-season series and snapping Cedarville’s five-game win streak.

“We are really grateful to Cedarville and their staff to make a really big initiative in making this work,” St. Ignace coach Dorene Ingalls said. “It’s been both communities putting a lot of time and effort into it. It’s such for a beautiful cause. It’s both teams and both communities teaming up to beat cancer’s butt.”

 

Tessa Shepard led the Saints with 18 points.

St. Ignace welcomes in Pickford on Tuesday while Cedarville (9-6) visits Newberry.
