T.C. Central Cruises By Petoskey, Advances to Regional Final

TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City Central scored three goals in the first period against Petoskey on Saturday and never looked back in the Div. 2 regional semifinal. The Trojans advanced with the 7-2 victory.

“It’s nice to get off to a good start, early start with a couple of goals. That takes the pressure off,” T.C. Central coach Chris Givens said. “With all the emotion in the tournament where it’s one loss and you’re done, that can get guys worked up to a point where they don’t function like they used to. It’s good to see them get off to a quick start, relax a little bit and play the way they’re capable of.”

T.C. Central will host the regional final on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Howe Arena. They face the winner of Muskegon Mona Shores and Manistee, who play Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in Scottville. For a final score update from that game, check out the MiSportsNow score page.
