Elk Rapids Alum Adam Trautman Reacts to Being Drafted

A homegrown superstar got the call of a lifetime last night.

Elk Rapids high school graduate and University of Dayton senior tight end Adam Trautman got the call from the New Orleans Saints that they were picking him 105th overall in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

“I was just sitting there and talking with my buddies and everything,” said Trautman. “I’m picking up and I’m like hello? And they’re like Adam? And I’m like yeah?” recalls Trautman. “He’s like this is Mickey Loomis with the New Orleans Saints and we’re about to trade up here and I’m just like… just a wave of relief ran through my body and excitement.”

Trautman concluded a record-setting Dayton career with 171 receptions for 2,295 yards and 31 touchdowns.
