Kalkaska Hires Wilkinson As Next Varsity Football Head Coach

KALKASKA — Kalkaska approved the hire of Jeremy Wilkinson as its next varsity football head coach, as he returns to the program he coached for nine seasons, compiling a 40-44 record.

The Kalkaska athletic department announced the decision in a press release, saying, “It is an honor and a privilege to welcome Coach Wilkinson back to our coaching ranks, whom we feel will be a strong contributor to our athletic department.”

He will be Kalkaska’s third head coach in three years after Justin Thelen departed for the head coaching job at Saginaw Heritage earlier this year.

The Blazers have gone winless during its last two football seasons. They last had a winning season in 2016 when they also made their last playoff appearance with Wilkinson as the head coach. They open their season at Rogers City on Aug. 28.
