MAC Football Media Day Going Virtual

The Mid-American Conference announced Thursday it is changing its annual football media day to a virtual event this summer.

The media day has been traditionally held at Ford Field in Detroit, the site of the MAC Championship game. The date and time of the event will be announced at a later date.

“A virtual media preview will provide the opportunity for increased exposure for our coaches, student-athletes, member institutions and the Conference as a whole,” MAC commissioner Jon Steinbrecher in a statement. “This will allow the membership to not only connect with the media but students, fans & alumni from all over. The MAC will continue to look for innovative ways to expand its reach.”

The media day will preview the 2020 MAC season and will be shown on the conference’s social media platforms. The two-day event will include a “state of the conference” address as well as a question and answer session with league coaches and athletes.
