MHSFCA Cancels Annual All-Star Game

The Michigan High School Football Coaches Association announced that it has canceled its annual East vs. West All-Star Game in June due to coronavirus concerns.

The 38th annual all-star game was originally scheduled for Saturday, June 20 at Saginaw Valley State.

“We feel at this time given the current state of the health in our state it is the right thing to do,” said MHSFCA president Andrew Pratley in a release. “We are aware that this is one more thing that will be taken away from graduating seniors and we feel terribly for those young people. We did look at moving the game to a later date and other possible solutions but it just isn’t possible.”

Despite the game’s cancellation, the MHSFCA will still select members for the team rosters and will make those announcements on Twitter.

“While we know this doesn’t replace the amazing experience these young people would have had, we feel it is important to give them something to be proud of for all of their hard work and accomplishments,” Pratley said.

Mt. Pleasant coach Jason McIntyre and Glen Lake assistant coach Tim Peterson are on the West Team coaching staff.
