Pickford Lights Up Football Field to Honor 2020 Graduating Class

PICKFORD – Pickford Public Schools honored its senior class of 2020 in a very special way Thursday evening.

At 8:20 p.m., or 20:20 military time, the lights at Pickford’s football stadium were illuminated for 20 minutes to show support for Pickford’s senior class that was unable to finish out the school year because of the coronavirus pandemic.

“The small-town camaraderie that we have is just phenomenal,” said Susan Edington, a Pickford senior parent and event organizer. “They followed the kids through everything. Band concerts, football games, basketball, baseball. FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) is huge here. There’s always a backing to support the kids in whatever endeavor they’re trying to do.”
