Senior Spotlight: East Jordan’s Raymond Readies for Football, Basketball at Alma College

MISportsNow is putting the spotlight on northern Michigan high school senior student-athletes who had their seasons cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.

East Jordan senior Jackson Raymond recently announced his commitment to Alma College and its football and men’s basketball programs.

Raymond wrapped up a talented four-year prep career that saw him average 12 points per game over his four seasons.

Raymond already had his mind set on pursuing one sport in college, but when the opportunity to participate in two sports was presented, he jumped at it.

“I really liked football, and one of the coaches saw some of my film and said that I have a nice chance of making team,” Raymond said. “I never even thought of playing. I only wanted to play basketball, so I just thought, why not?”

Raymond says his favorite memory of high school sports was being around his teammates.
