Senior Spotlight: One More Opportunity on the Hardwood for Beal City’s Chilman

MISportsNow is putting the spotlight on northern Michigan high school senior student-athletes who had their seasons cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Beal City’s Logan Chilman had a productive senior year, guiding the school’s football program to its first state championship game appearance since 2013 and helping the boys basketball team to a district final appearance.

Chilman, who missed 10 games of the 2019-20 season due to an ankle injury, is thankful for the opportunity to continue his basketball career at Mid Michigan College. He also loves staying close to home.

“It’s going to be great experience just having them all there; my grandparents, my family, everybody, with the support,” Chilman said. “I’m super close to Coach (Kaleb) House and the coaching staff. Coach House was one of my teachers. So we’ve had a really good relationship over the years, and it’s perfect situation being close to home, a small-school vibe.”
