Senior Spotlight: Rogers City’s Altman Taking Talents to Mid Michigan College

MISportsNow is putting the spotlight on northern Michigan high school senior student-athletes who had their seasons cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Rogers City three-sport senior athlete Kyrsten Altman is set to take her talents to Mid Michigan College and its softball program in the fall.

A volleyball, basketball and softball player for the Hurons, Altman had her sights set to leading Rogers City to its third straight Division 4 state semifinal appearance this spring before the MHSAA canceled the spring season due to concerns with the coronavirus pandemic.

Altman joins a Mid Michigan College that is still in its infancy. The 2021 season will mark the third for the Lakers.

“It’s not that far from my hometown. I know a couple people down there, so it just makes it nice that I will have people down there,” Atlman said. “I really liked the coaches. I met some of the girls on the team and I really liked them also.”

Atlman plans to pursue a degree in health sciences.
