Kuhn, Vinecki Among Nominees for 2020-21 US Freestyle Ski Team

A pair of northern Michigan natives are among 31 athletes nominated for the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team for the 2020-21 season.

Boyne City’s Kaila Kuhn and Gaylord’s Winter Vinecki have both received nominations to the U.S. Women’s Aerials Team. The U.S. Freestyle Ski Team is comprised of mogul and aerial skiers. Both Kuhn and Vinecki are members of the Park City Ski and Snowboard Elite Aerial Development Program.

An announcement from the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team regarding 2020-21 team members will be made in the fall.

Vinecki, 21, has attended the University of Utah and was crowned the 2019 U.S. National Champion for aerial skiers. A four-year member of the U.S. Ski Team, Vinecki has three career World Cup top-10 finishes, five career NorAm Cup wins, 10 NorAm Cup podiums and was the 2016 NorAm Cup title winner.

Kuhn, 17, is a past Junior National champion and recently concluded her first year with the U.S. Ski Team. She has recorded a pair of top 10 finishes on the World Cup circuit as well as three wins and seven podium finishes in NorAm Cup competition.
