Senior Spotlight: Mt. Pleasant’s Boyd Continuing Volleyball Career at Alma College

MISportsNow is putting the spotlight on northern Michigan high school senior student-athletes who had their seasons cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.

After leading Mt. Pleasant to a pair of district championships and a regional title, Kolbey Boyd is continuing her volleyball career at the next level.

Boyd is set to stay close to home and will attend Alma College and joins the school’s NCAA Division III volleyball program in the fall.

“It’s been my dream my whole life to play college volleyball. I’m looking forward to the intensity because we’re going to have better competition,” Boyd said. “I’m definitely looking forward to it. That’s probably one of the only things that I have to keep working out in hopes to get back out on the court.”

Boyd joins an Alma program that went 17-13 a season ago.
