Stefanski Takes Over Boyne City Girls Basketball Program

Adam StefanskiFormer Mackinaw City coach and current Boyne City athletic director Adam Stefanski is taking over the coaching reins of Boyne City’s varsity girls basketball program.

Stefanski recently concluded his first year as Boyne City’s athletic director. Prior to joining Boyne City, Stefanski previously coached the Mackinaw City varsity girls basketball team from 2009-19, leading the Comets to five Northern Lakes Conference championships, four district titles and a program-record 23 wins in his final campaign. He also served as Mackinaw City’s athletic director for 10 years and spent six years coaching middle school boys basketball and two years coaching JV boys basketball.

Boyne City also hired longtime JV coach and varsity assistant Randy Calcaterra as its new varsity boys basketball coach this week.

“I’m just excited to see what the future brings in all the athletic programs and specifically to see what Coach  Calcaterra can do with the boys program and what I can do with the girls,” Stefanski said.

Stefanski takes over a program that went 15-6 in 2019-20.
