MISportsNow is putting the spotlight on northern Michigan high school senior student-athletes who had their seasons cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Traverse City West senior Jayden Rawlin is set to continue her academic and soccer careers at Alma College in the fall.

A three-time all-district honoree, Rawlin helped lead the Titans to back-to-back Big North Conference championships and 43 wins over the last three seasons.

“I knew I wanted to go to a smaller school,” Rawlin said. “My brother also goes there, so I was kind of familiar with the college and stuff. And my over-night stay there was really fun and I had a good experience. A lot of the girls, we’ve been doing a lot of the FaceTimes and Zooms as a team and stuff, so we’ve been getting to know each other.”

Rawlin’s brother, Joe, recently concluded his freshman campaign with Alma’s men’s soccer team.

She joins an Alma program that went 10-6-1 in 2019.
