Traverse City’s Alex Scott Eager to Resume Golf Career

As the PGA Tour is set to return to play this weekend, Traverse City native Alex Scott is anxious to get his professional golf career back on track.

A Traverse City West and Grand Valley State alum, Scott participated on the Arnold Palmer Cup and the Mackenzie Tour – PGA Tour Canada last year and was set to play on the PGA Tour Latinoamérica this spring prior to the coronavirus pandemic.

The first amateur to win the Michigan PGA’s Tournament of Champions, Scott is now set to return to competition on a mini tour in South Dakota in July.

“I was looking forward to being able to try to travel and go play in some of those events,” Scott said. “I’d be all over South America. You’d be going to Mexico, Brazil, Peru, like Argentina, crazy places like that. And then obviously all of this came down so I played well in some of the mini tour events that I played well in Arizona, so it was a decent year. There was a lot of learning.”
