Boyne City’s Kuhn Continues to Train, Eyes 2022 Olympic Spot

Boyne City native Kaila Kuhn concluded her first year with the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team this past spring, and is among 31 athletes nominated for the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team for the 2020-21 season.

Kuhn, 17, is a past Junior National champion and has recorded a pair of top 10 finishes on the World Cup circuit as well as three wins and seven podium finishes in NorAm Cup competition.

Kuhn is currently in Utah, continuing her training for a potential spot in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

With so much uncertainty in the sports world because of the coronavirus pandemic, Kuhn isn’t sure how her upcoming World Cup season will look.

“At the moment, we don’t know much,” she said. “We’re not sure how this season will play out. Hopefully we’ll find that out this fall. But we may or may not have a World Cup season this year.”
