Elk Rapids High School alum and University of Dayton graduate Adam Trautman officially signed his first NFL contract with the New Orleans Saints on Monday.
A tight end, Trautman was drafted by the Saints with the 105th overall pick in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft back in April.
Recruited by Dayton as a quarterback, Trautman transitioned to tight end and went on to earn all-Pioneer Football League honors in his sophomore, junior and senior campaigns. As a senior Trautman was named the PFL Offensive Player of the Year and played in the 2020 Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Trautman concluded a record-setting Dayton career with 171 receptions for 2,295 yards and 31 touchdowns.
