Resorters Edge Pit Spitters for 2nd Straight Win

TRAVERSE CITY – A three-run second inning lifted the Great Lakes Resorters to their second straight win with a 3-2 victory over the Traverse City Pit Spitters in Northwoods League Northern Michigan Pod action at Turtle Creek Stadium Friday.

Brendan Ryan doubled in a run for the Resorters, while Dayne Leonard went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Noah Marcoux also went 2-for-4 for Great Lakes.

Anderson Strunk earned the win in relief for the Resorters (3-5), allowing two runs (one earned) on a hit and a walk over an inning of work.

Nick Brown recorded his first save of the season after striking out the side in the ninth.

Mario Camilletti led the way at the plate for the Pit Spitters (5-3), going 1-for-3 with an RBI.

The Pit Spitters were held to just four hits in the loss.

Jacob Marcus was saddled with the loss after giving up three runs (two earned) on three hits while walking one and striking out three over the first three innings.

The two teams are back in action again Saturday. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
