Vizina Takes Over at Inland Lakes

The Inland Lakes girls basketball program will have a new head coach this winter as Daryl Vizina takes over the reins.

Darly VizinaA 1996 Inland Lakes graduate, Vizina takes over the program from former high school teammate Patrick Clancy.

This marks Vizina’s first varsity coaching position, but Clancy has been helpful in the transition.

“I had been to a number of his games so I’m pretty familiar with the program,” Vizina said. “I’m familiar with a lot of the girls. It’s actually going to be a relatively easy transition, hopefully. I don’t know if we’ll have similar styles or not. I guess we haven’t talked about that. But as far as just, helping me get things going, getting me contacts, those sorts of things, he’s been a huge asset.”

Vizina says Inland Lakes will return a young group of athletes that are seeking their first winning campaign since 2017. He inherits a team that went 3-18 during the 2019-20 season.
