Boyne Golf Academy PGA teaching professional Jeff Roth will make his sixth appearance at the PGA Championship this week.

Roth has more than 70 professional tournament wins to his name, including numerous Michigan Open, Michigan PGA Professional, Michigan Senior PGA, Tournament of Champions and Michigan PGA Match Play titles.

An inductee in the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame, Michigan PGA Hall of Fame and the University of Arizona Golf Hall of Fame, Roth is in his third year with the Boyne Golf Academy.

A PGA golf professional since 1979, Roth made his first appearance at the PGA Championship in 1988, with his most recent appearance coming back in 2004.

At 62, Roth is excited for the opportunity to compete again at the PGA Championship 16 years later.

“It seems like I still that opportunity to go out there and excel and I have that desire to want to practice and want to grind and want to work in the offseason,” Roth said. “I feel very humbled and blessed to be able to do this one more time. It’ll be a special week, I’m looking forward to playing well.”

Ferris State alum and Yankee Springs Golf Course PGA professional Ben Cook will also be competing at the PGA Championship.

The PGA Championship from TPC Harding Park in San Francisco gets underway Thursday.
