Pit Spitters’ Camilletti Transferring to CMU

The 2020 roster for the Traverse City Pit Spitters is loaded with players from last year’s Northwoods League championship including second baseman Mario Camilletti.

Camilletti, who is batting .321 on the season with 12 RBI in 16 games, is excited for the opportunity to continue his collegiate career at CMU and for the chance to play in Traverse City again this summer.

“The more fans are here, the more it is for us,” Camilletti said. “We’re actually playing for somebody and just having eyes on us all the time is just amazing I think. And the opportunity we get here is just unbelievable that Traverse City did this for us. Just play some baseball, just see the ball thrown, hit the ball, that’s really hit, run the bases every once and a while, hit and get some walks. I’m just truly blessed to be here.”

The Pit Spitters next take on the Great Lakes Resorters at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday at Turtle Creek Stadium.
