Resorters Shutout Pit Spitters Snapping Six-Game Losing Streak

TRAVERSE CITY – Travis Janes and Kyle Riesselmann made two diving catches which helped the Great Lakes Resorters snap a six-game losing streak with a 6-0 shutout win over the Pit Spitters at Turtle Creek Stadium on Saturday.

Three Resorters pitchers combined to allow just one hit from the Spitters with eight strikeouts in the win.

A sacrifice fly from Resorters shortstop, Crew Cohoes and a Kyle Riesselmann pair of stolen bases made it 2-0.

Back-to-Back RBI hits from Noah Marcoux and Kyle Riesselmann helped extend the Resorters lead to 6-0.

Pit Spitters starter, Chad Patrick, went five innings allowing just one run on five strikeouts in his first loss of the season.

Resorters starter, James Rogers, pitched six innings of scoreless one-hit baseball in his first win on the year.

The Resorters improved to 3-11 while the Spitters fall to 11-3.

The two teams are back in action on Monday night at 7:05 p.m.
