Damgard inherits a team that went 44-5 over the last two years and won consecutive Big North Conference championships and made back-to-back Division 2 state quarterfinal appearances.

“I’m super excited to have the opportunity to lead this girls program,” Damgard said. “The last two years, coach Mac did an awesome job of creating a culture of winning and having a lot of fun playing basketball and I look forward to continuing that, so it’s going to be an exciting adventure. I think the standard is pretty high. You know, our kids in the conference, they’re looking to be the leaders they’ve been the leaders for the last couple years and they certainly don’t want that to drop and neither do I. They want to rise to the challenge, they’re ready to get rolling.”

Cadillac is tentatively scheduled to open its season at Reed City on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
