Kingsley Volleyball Looks to Continue to Build on Success

KINGSLEY – Last year, Kingsley volleyball advanced to the Division 2 state semi-finals, making it their first trip to the semis since 2004.

The Stags graduated seven senior starters from that team as they look to build off that success. The players have had their challenges of attempting to grow as a team in a short period of time, but they are starting to hit their stride.

“We’re a little behind on just experience and looking at lineups against competition,” said head coach Dave Hall. “It’s hard to simulate in practice really good game situation where we can look at lineups. But everyone’s kind of in that same boat.

“This year, knowing that we can go that far, it’s just a really big thing,” Viktoria McIntosh, a Kingsley senior. “It just motivates us with everything with COVID going on, it’s showing us that we need to take one practice at a time and be thankful for everything and play every game like it’s our last. I think that’s helped us a lot.”

The Stags are back in action Tuesday at Benzie Central.
