TRAVERSE CITY – The Traverse City Pit Spitters and the Kalamazoo Mac Daddies came out at the top of each of their respective pods in the Michigan for the Northwoods League.
The two met on Saturday afternoon to play for the top of the Michigan Pod at Turtle Creek Stadium.
The Mac Daddies got out to an early 3-0 nothing lead in the third inning, and it took until the sixth for the Pit Spitters to get on the board.
The Spitters did get runners on second and third in the ninth, hoping for a comeback, but back-to-back ground outs crushed those chances.
After a very exciting championship game, the fall just short, losing 4-1 in the final game of the season. The Kalamazoo are the 2020 Northwoods League Michigan Pod Champions! Congrats to both teams on a great season!
