Organizers for the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit announced Friday that the 2020 edition of the bowl game will not be played.

Backed by the Detroit Lions and held annually at Ford Field, the Quick Lane Bowl is one of seven bowl games that will not be played this season. The Detroit game joins the Bahamas Bowl, the Celebration Bowl, Fenway Bowl, Hawai’i Bowl, Holiday Bowl and Redbox Bowl in being in inactive for 2020.

Started in 2014, the Quick Lane Bowl traditionally pits Big Ten and ACC schools, with the Mid-American Conference receiving secondary consideration.

Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan have both played in past games.

Plans are for the Quick Lane Bowl to return in 2021.
