A pair of area high school football playoff games have been canceled because of the coronavirus.
The Frankfort-Saginaw Nouvel Division 8 first round game has been canceled because of positive COVID-19 cases at Nouvel. Frankfort (4-3) will receive a forfeit win and will face either Johannesburg-Lewiston (6-0) or Alcona (0-5) in a district semifinal next week.
Out of an abundance of caution and to mitigate the spread of disease within the school and community and based upon the guidance provided by the health department, we will not be able to compete in the upcoming playoff game vs Frankfort.
